My life today looks much different than I ever dreamed it would. Currently living in Maple Grove, Minnesota never had I imagined that I would move to places every 8 months and back to Minnesota for the summers. For those that may be unfamiliar with this lifestyle, my fiancé is a professional athlete and hockey season changes by the day and moving has now become my normal. With this past year spent in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and now back home for the summer, we're offically building roots in our new home in Minnesota.

Growing up in Minnesota, I always had dreams to get out of the state after college. With hopes of going to graduate school in Colorado to join my brother, much of that changed in the year of 2017. After Dominic and I started seeing each other, I knew that I was going to be moving, just never knew where it would be. As he finished up his first professional year of hockey, and I finishing up my final semester of college in May of 2018, the future was very unknown. We moved to our very first apartment in Duluth, where we both grew up to start a life together. After our 3 short months in Minnesota we were making the move to Denver, Colorado for his second season with the Colorado Avalanche. Luckily this was just he place I wanted to be. Just 2 weeks after being in our new home, on September 7th, 2018 we welcomed our little fur baby Ruby. Ruby was just 8 weeks old when got her and now a year and a half later she has become the biggest part of our lives.

Fast forward to this past summer Dominic received a call that he had been traded from Colorado to the Florida Panthers. With this change we knew that a new opportunity for him was a new opportunity for all of us. Going into this year I had a college degree in Public Health, a year done in my Master's Program and still no stable job. With moving as often as we do, and never really being guaranteed to stay in one spot, I knew that working remote was going to be my only option. Luckily, fate had shown when I was offered a new job with a company in Duluth to work 100% remote. Now 2 months in, I've learned more about myself and how to manage working from home, being away from all my friends and family, and truly figuring out what my life in goal really is. Now many may wonder why I am in Connecticut when it seems as if I was moving to Florida. Though the hockey world is very confusing, the minor league team is based out of Springfield, Massachusetts and without going into much detail, this will be home base for now. Though many people think that dating a professional athlete is amazing. TRUE. It is amazing that I get to travel to so many places and experience so many new things. This life has brought me new friends in new places every year, but also getting to watch Dom do what he loves the most is the best part of it all. BUT, don't let that all get in the way with the fact hat it is extremely tough. With moving, being alone, always unsure of what the next day brings, sometimes this lifestyle is the hardest part.

Now and forever will I be grateful to have the most supportive family and friends, get to be around the ones i love every single day, and get to live a life full of unknowns, there is so much more I will get to share with you all int he future. For now, enjoy the little things, always put yourself first, and never forget to stay positive, the best is yet to come!
